Kim has always possessed a love for artistic expression. Although her childhood studies include classical violin, piano, and dance, house music is the root of her passion. This passion induced her to diligently begin a diverse and superfluous vinyl collection. Kim seeks to meticulously blend the influence of those tracks which are classic, with those which are new and different. Her resulting collection reflects a quirky, sexy, and raw, ‘warehouse’ sound that she is notorious for.
Support from the dance community consistently remark on Kim’s choice of music, but this is not the only variable worth discussing. Even as an infant on the decks, Kim pushed herself to perfect a distinctive mixing style; a style which is seamless, constructive, and individual. Her distinct sound of house combined with smooth, yet poignant mixing is what most describe as ‘refreshing.’
In 2001 in Reno, Nv, Kim entered a ‘Best New DJ’ contest. She displayed her abilities alongside 14 other house and hip hop dj’s. Kim was stunned yet proud to have won first place. With her success in the contest, djing became even more enjoyable.
Kim was soon playing consistently and held several residencies in Reno and Sacramento, CA. She displayed her versatility at densely packed clubs, after hour gatherings, and outdoor parties in the sun. Kim played alongside favorites Rick Preston, Christophe, and Mea, and traveled to play in Hawaii, San Francisco, Seattle, and Utah.
Now in Sacramento, Kim is studying marketing while djing and is also delving into production.
Kim’s refreshing sound and mixing style have a sense of longevity worth looking out for.
