Get up and move! DJ Marlee's dynamic blend of House, Breaks and Techno keeps people dancing until the sun comes up or their knees give out. Marlee's energy, enthusiasm and undeniable skill have made her unique sound a staple at clubs and events. She plays to packed clubs and radio shows, and makes regular appearances on MTV Canada's Select. Marlee is a tireless rhythm explorer - searching for mixes that keep the crowds jumping. Her dedication to the progression of her musical career expanded this year when she started producing her own tracks. She also promotes with Neotribe Records; bringing in and playing alongside nationally renowned DJs to these sold out shows. With the poise and promise of a bankable star, Marlee delivers.

Music has always played a large part in Marlee's life. Born in Victoria in 1980, Marlee was raised playing the guitar and saxophone. In 1997 she 'discovered' the electronic music scene and was completely enthralled by its music and culture. She quickly became infatuated with the process of mixing records and turntablism. For the next few years, Marlee immersed herself in the music, buying CDs and studying other DJs techniques behind the decks. Soon she was spinning records on a friend's turntables, learning the basics and amassing a collection of records. Knowing that DJing was becoming more than just a hobby for her- Marlee invested in her own decks. After setting up a practice space in her basement- she was rarely seen more than a headphone's cord length away from her decks. Her passion for the art quickly became an obsession - often leaving Marlee spending entire days spinning non-stop. This constant dedication, combined with her musical background,
allowed her skills and technique to soar. Soon after, she could be found rocking house parties throughout Victoria. Her energetic sets caught the ear of several promoters, many of whom booked her for their club nights.

The past few years have been instrumental ones for DJ Marlee. She's played numerous radio shows - 101.9 CFUV(BC), DJshows.com (TO), and The Jelo Show(TO), and has become a regular face at Victoria night clubs, while holding down several residencies. She's been “keeping booties shaking” at Diablos, Lucky Bar, and the West Coast's longest running electronic club night- Storm at Hush. She also makes regular appearances on MTV Canada’s “Select” in Vancouver, BC.

It did not take long for one of her sets to catch the ear of several well respected DJs. Her undeniable skill level and promise of becoming a West Coast star - led to her signing by Neotribe Records. As word spreads about Marlee's funky booty shakin' Breaks and Hard House with attitude sets- the offers have poured in from across Western Canada. Marlee will surely become known as a woman who can throw down with the best of them. She may be out of the basement, but she always rocks the house!
