Elegant Downtempo. Electro House. Indie Rock. Breaks. Liquid Drum & Bass. DJ Syrena’s musical tastes are as multi-faceted as her talents. A spokesmodel who emceed while simultaneously working the runway in fashion shows, her performance artistry soon evolved into live vocal performances over her DJ sets. This lead her to the studio, where she lent her vocals on several tracks for producer friends and educated herself in the art of DJ’ing and music production.
Syrena creates the perfect atmosphere with a keen intuition of the crowd’s needs, while pushing boundaries to educate them with new forms of music. A consummate beat mixer who cut her own groove in the pulsating energy of the nightlife scene, Syrena creates a sensual soundscape of lush tones and world class beats, uniting people together in a stimulating ritual of rhythm and dance.
From avant-garde art openings to swanky clubs, Syrena instantly became an intricate part of LA's nightlife in late 1999, and has performed alongside the likes of Starkillers, Mark Lewis, Diamond, Jamie Thinnes, LTJ Bukem, Nookie, Reid Speed and Louie Vega. She has showcased her sound in many premier Hollywood hotspots including Circus Disco, Blvd 3, King King, Republic, The Falcon, The House Of Blues, Cinespace, Star Shoes, and Facade, with residencies at The Standard and Blowfish on the Sunset Strip, and The End Up in San Francisco. In 2003, she completed a successful UK tour, where she headlined at Studio C, in London's historic County Hall building. She is a regular guest on independent and internet radio stations worldwide.
Well respected by the media, she has been recognized as one of LA’s hottest female DJ’s by the Los Angeles Times, URB, Mixer and Karma magazines. The Jade Channel/TVB Network based a reality TV show, on her experiences as a DJ in 2004, and her entry into the 2005 BPM Magazine Beauty and The Beats contest placed her as a favorite runner up. Her talents have resulted in a word-of-mouth-sensation to perform for the likes of Moet-Hennessy, Veuve Clicquot, Jaguar, ELLEgirl Magazine, and Miss Sixty.
She is an active supporter of women working in the electronic music industry, as a contributing writer for SheJay.net and founder of Selectress.com, a website to promote her fellow female colleagues. Internationally renowned DJ collective Femme DJs inducted Syrena into its fold in 2005, boasting an impressive roster of global talent.
