Getting Respect from your male peers
Sparkimus Prime Jul 10 2005 - 8:48am The Business of Music
I'm not sure any of the rest of you who might happen to read this have gone through a similar thing, but I'm finding it tough, as a promoter, to be taken seriously. I run my business just like any normal business minded person in the industry, however I am not getting the same respect my male counterparts (who often, are doing a lackadaisical job of their own business) are getting. It's not so much the female djing thing that I'm having the most trouble with, though it does disgust me that looks play a more important role than your actual skill when talking about a woman, however, the promoting thing really aggitates me and makes me feel like giving up sometimes. any words of advice from my fellow female promoters out there? login to post comments
